The German automaker has announced the launch of the second all-electric car in India. Mercedes-Benz EQS will be the new launch in the Indian EV market. It will be the second EV in India after the EQS SUV. This new EV by Mercedez-Benz will launch in the later months of 2022. Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV was a 7-seater full-size electric SUV. It was the first electric vehicle of Mercedes in India. This SUV comes with an option of single and dual motors. Specifications of the new Mercedes EV
Mercedes will launch AMG EQS 53 4Matic +, EQS 450+, and 580 4Matic in the next EV lineup. The AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ will be equipped with a 107.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Two AMG electric motors will power it. These motors will generate 658 horsepower and 950 Nm of torque. Mercedes-Benz claims that AMG EQS 53 will have a range of 577 km on a single charge. It will be an all-wheel drive that will accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. Also, the top speed of the new EV will be 220 kmph.
On the other hand, the 580 4MATIC and EQS 450+ will be equipped with the same 107.8 kWh battery. The 580 4MATIC will be an all-wheel drive. It will produce 523 horsepower and 855 Nm of torque. It is a bit slower than the AMG. This model can accelerate from zero to a hundred kmph in 4.3 seconds. The top speed of this variant will be 210 kmph.
EQS 450+ is the only variant with rear-wheel drive. It is also the slowest in the EQS lineup. It is capable of generating 333 horsepower and 568 Nm of torque. This automobile will take 6.2 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 kmph. Though the top speed is the same as the 580 4 Matic, that is 210kmph.
What are the features offered on the new EQS?
The new EQS will bring along multiple features. Mercedes has provided a good amount of space in the interiors. The cabin is roomy and feels light with the panoramic sunroof. The dashboard is all wrapped around with a hyper screen. The hyper screen is a huge curved screen that includes the infotainment system, digital instrumental cluster, and another screen for the side passenger.
Mercedes has provided more features like ambient lighting, multi-zone automatic climate control, electronically adjustable seats, and the seats are wrapped up in premium leather. The exteriors of the Sedan are just as classy as the brand. Also, it gets a curved front bumper to exceed the length of the car. The front grille has just a basic feel and it looks rich. It gets spooked by dark alloys which seem more premium. All-in-all you will get a luxury electric vehicle by Mercedes-Benz.
