He will also continue to be the head of Porsche. This resignation is said to be the mutual decision between Diess and VW. This resignation will come into effect on September 1, and Oliver will continue. Herbert Diess served for four years in Volkswagen. Currently, VW is the second largest automaker.

Who is Herbert Diess?

Herbert is the current CEO of Volkswagen group and the VW management board chairman. He was born on October 24, 1958, in Germany. Along with being the CEO of VW, he is a board member of Audi, Skoda, Porsche, and SEAT. In 2018, He was awarded as one of the Best CEOs in the world. He is the person who pushed the Volkswagen group to mass electric vehicle production. On Thursday, he was informed that he would no longer be serving the VW group as the CEO. The board members and the shareholders took this decision. Herbert was doing good in the company and wanted to make VW the largest electric vehicle producer.
