Porsche has officially pushed its performance ambitions into a new era with the debut of the all-new Cayenne Coupe Electric, a luxury SUV that now holds the title of the most powerful production Porsche ever built.
Revealed during the week of May 25, 2026, the electric performance SUV arrives with staggering figures that place it far beyond traditional expectations for the brand’s utility vehicles.
At the center of the announcement is the flagship Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric, a machine capable of producing up to 1,139 horsepower through its dual motor all-wheel-drive setup. Porsche says the high-performance SUV can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds while reaching a top speed of 162 mph.
Those numbers move the Cayenne Coupe Electric into supercar territory despite its size and luxury-focused design.
The vehicle also marks another major milestone for Porsche’s electrification plans. The company has spent years refining electric performance through the Taycan, but the Cayenne Coupe Electric represents a much broader statement.
This is not a niche sports sedan aimed at early adopters. It is one of Porsche’s most important mainstream models transformed into a high-powered EV without sacrificing the aggressive driving character the brand is known for.
The Cayenne lineup has already become one of Porsche’s most commercially successful families worldwide. The coupe version in particular has grown rapidly in popularity, especially among buyers who want SUV practicality mixed with sportier styling.
Porsche says coupe variants accounted for roughly 40 percent of Cayenne sales in recent years, making the decision to electrify the body style an obvious next step.
A Luxury SUV With Supercar Performance
While electric vehicles delivering huge horsepower numbers are no longer unusual, Porsche appears determined to separate itself through driving dynamics rather than raw acceleration alone.
The Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric uses an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture paired with a massive 113 kWh battery pack.
Porsche claims the system can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in less than 16 minutes under ideal conditions when connected to a compatible 400 kW DC fast charger. That places the SUV among the fastest charging EVs currently announced for production.
Three trim levels will be available. The standard Cayenne Coupe Electric starts with 435 horsepower, while the Cayenne S Coupe Electric increases output to 657 horsepower. The Turbo model becomes the headline-grabbing flagship thanks to its four-digit power figure and immense torque output exceeding 1,100 lb-ft.
Performance is only part of the engineering story. Porsche has loaded the SUV with advanced chassis technology intended to disguise its considerable weight.
Active Ride suspension, adaptive air springs, rear axle steering, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus are all available depending on trim level. Engineers say the system continuously adjusts body movement to maintain sharper cornering behavior and improved ride comfort.
Drivers familiar with Porsche’s recent performance models will recognize the company’s obsession with balance and control. The Cayenne Coupe Electric may be brutally fast in straight lines, but Porsche clearly wants customers to view it as a complete driver’s machine rather than simply a high-horsepower electric SUV.
Coupe Design Adds More Than Just Styling
The coupe body style brings meaningful aerodynamic improvements beyond visual appeal. Porsche lowered the roofline compared to the regular Cayenne Electric SUV, helping achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.23. That figure improves efficiency while also giving the vehicle a lower and more aggressive stance.
The exterior design keeps many familiar Porsche cues intact. The front end carries slim LED lighting and wide cooling openings, while the rear features a full-width light bar and an adaptive spoiler system that changes position depending on speed and driving conditions.
The Turbo version receives additional aerodynamic aids, including active side aeroblades designed to reduce drag at higher speeds.
Porsche is also offering a Lightweight Sport Package that adds carbon fiber components, unique wheels, performance tires, and motorsport-inspired cabin details. The package reduces weight slightly while giving the SUV a more track focused appearance.
Inside, Porsche has introduced a heavily digitized cabin centered around what it calls the Flow Display system. Large curved screens dominate the dashboard, including optional passenger-side displays and augmented reality heads-up technology.
Despite the futuristic layout, Porsche retained a driver-oriented cockpit design intended to preserve the brand’s sports car identity.

The SUV also continues Porsche’s focus on practicality. Rear seats fold electronically, cargo space remains generous despite the sloping roofline, and towing capacity reaches nearly 7,700 pounds.
Pricing Signals Porsche’s High-End Strategy
The range-topping Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric will start at $170,350 before options and destination fees, placing it firmly in ultra-luxury territory. Lower trims begin at significantly lower prices, though even the entry-level coupe remains expensive compared to many competing electric SUVs.
That pricing reflects Porsche’s broader strategy as the company navigates a changing luxury EV market. Demand for premium electric vehicles has become more unpredictable in several global markets, particularly as buyers reconsider charging infrastructure, incentives, and long-term ownership costs.
Porsche itself has recently experienced softer global deliveries in some regions, especially China. Yet the company appears confident that buyers will still pay heavily for vehicles delivering both prestige and extreme performance.
The Cayenne Coupe Electric arrives at a time when automakers are racing to define what electric luxury performance should feel like. Rivals from Tesla, BMW, Mercedes AMG, Lotus, and Lucid have all entered the segment with increasingly powerful SUVs.
Porsche’s response is not subtle. Instead of cautiously entering the horsepower battle, the German manufacturer has launched directly into the top tier.
Deliveries for the Cayenne Coupe Electric are expected to begin before the end of summer 2026.
For Porsche, the launch represents far more than another electric vehicle. It is a declaration that the company believes EVs can still carry the emotional intensity, speed, and identity that made the brand famous long before batteries entered the conversation.
