After sticking with the same generation of design for so long, Honda is giving its famous sedan, Civic, a brand new look for the year 2022. The base civic model is getting a refresh with a new modern look for the 11th generation of the Honda Civic. Along with the famous sedan, the Civic line-up for 2022 is going to have a hatchback and the high-performance type R. In addition, the coupe model may also be added to this generation. The company first revealed the prototype for this generation in 2020, and since then, there has been no further update on this model. The 2021 Honda Civic has hit the market, and it is still based on the previous generation of the car.
As you saw, this is the 2022 Honda Civic Proto.
Honda Civic Proto: Sedan’s Exterior and Interior
The front of the sedan is pretty different from the previous model in a lot of ways. The first change is the headlights; instead of the old design, the civic finally get the modern led strip lights standard. It still has other lights inside, but the shape is quite different. The side reflector is also integrated into the highlights now. On the front, the upper grill is the same as the honda logo, but underneath, there is a huge grill decorating the entire front of the car. Along with being a place for the engine heat to radiate, the grill trend has finally been integrated into this sedan. The fog lights are also different, and it’s been integrated into a separate space on the left and right. The whole piece that went in the front of the car in the 2021 model is gone.
The side and back shape of the car is pretty much the same, with only one key difference. The brake lights are different. The hideous brake lights that came with the previous model are no more. Instead, there is standard L-shaped brake light led on the back that stays confined in its enclosure. The indicator lights are also expected to be a straight-led-type of implementation in this car. The side mirrors are a bit sleeker, and the rims are different in the proto; black and star-shaped.

The interior for the previous model was pretty equipped and comfort-oriented. The subtle chrome accents in the cabin made it even more attractive. There is a decent size screen in the middle, and there are individual buttons for most of the climate control functionality. The steering also had full control buttons for most of the stuff that you would need to do. The civic comes with a decent sound system, but you may need the feel to upgrade it comparing it to the other stuff in the market. The 2022 Honda Civic will bring all this, but the dash is set to become sleeker and modern. The screen will be fitted on the dash, while the rest of the dash will get a unified look. It is inspired by the new trends for the interior and looks attractive at first look.
Note that all the details from the proto may not be carried to the production models, while some extra/different features can come when the car hits production.

2022 Honda Civic: Release Date
After a wide demand for a refresh to the design of this car, Honda will start the production of the 2022 model in the current year. The 2022 Honda Civic Sedan is set to hit the market by the end of 2021. The other models, Hatchback and other performance models, will follow in 2022. This car will start at $22000 and go up to $31000 for the top of line, touring model. The standard 2.0-liter engine from last year will make it to the next year. The higher models are also turbocharged for some extra performance. The 2022 Honda Civic Type R will be the top-tier sportiest model for the car, and it will be released at later dates. Honda has finally managed to get minimalist about the design of the Civic, at least for the standard models. The modern look of the proto tells us that the production car for the 2022 model year is going to be amazing in terms of looks.
